When Your Pearls Are Stolen: Finding Peace in God's Justice
"I didn't know..."
How many of us have whispered these words to the Lord after coming into the fullness of His wisdom and will, only to realize we were walking in darkness all along? How many of us came into the shocking reality of how deep deception was keeping us blind to the enemy’s plot against us? I've found myself in this place of humbling revelation, and perhaps you have too. The pivot from being blind to seeing clearly.
The Pain of Being Stolen From
Lately, God has been opening my spiritual eyes to see something that grieves His heart deeply: the theft of His precious gifts. I've witnessed people taking the pearls that God births through our surrender—those insights and revelations that come only through living through intimate communion with Him—and passing them off as their own for the sake of an inflated ego. And think they are doing a service in His name, while partnering with a spirit of error.
They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.
John 16:2
For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child. Hebrews 12:6
Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
Ephesians 4:28
If you've experienced this, you know the sting. You've poured out your heart in prayer, endured hardships that birthed identity, you've waited on the Lord for understanding, and you've received beautiful pearls of wisdom. Then you watch as someone else takes credit for what God entrusted to you, all for likes and applause. It hurts. It feels unfair. And you wonder if God even sees.
But here's what the Lord has been showing me: God is not pleased with those who steal, and He warns and warns.
Building Towers with Stolen Materials
Many are constructing their personal connections, networks, ministries and platforms with what I can only describe as "termite-infested beams and mismatched construction tools"—none of which were provided by God just yet, or learned through authentic relationship with Him. Yet they boldly lie and pass off the pearls from God's oysters as their own creation.
Let me be clear: there's a profound difference between being inspired by someone's testimony to seek your own deeper revelation and constantly stealing from others to appear as though you're dwelling in the depths of God's ocean. One is authentic spiritual growth; the other is deception.
And deception? That's one of the things God made sure to tell us He hates. A lying tongue is an abomination to Him (Proverbs 6:16-17).
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
John 8:44
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.
Proverbs 12:22
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Revelation 21:8
The Dangerous Game of Spiritual Alchemy
What breaks my heart is seeing so many fall into this dangerous game of spiritual alchemy—all because of pride. They're trying to turn stolen wisdom into gold, but God sees through every facade.
This morning, the Lord spoke to my spirit with sobering clarity: "Many works will not weather the storm. Many false pearls will be crushed under My gavel. Only dust will remain, and no tower will be in sight."
Why does God allow this process? To humble. To teach that we know nothing like we think we do. Even with revelation and wisdom, God can make your mind and works result to nothing more than a pile of confusion and broken ideals.
All the knowledge and insights that have been stolen, all the works passed off as original—these will be met with God's "I didn't know you" (Matthew 7:23). And friend, this usually means a unique kind of spiritual warfare meant to drive us back to complete dependence on God.
When you hear the term spiritual alchemy, I want you to envision the option to choose Barabbas, a robber, over Jesus. You’re choosing to be the end product of gold, rather than allowing the Lord to take you through the refining process. This is dangerous.
While many who do this seemingly get away with it, the Lord sees their tree like bioengineered foods. Lacking nutrients, their hearts' soil is engineered to be depleted, making reproduction difficult.
Consequently, they have to keep stealing and lying to maintain a facade, even resorting to murderous envy and accusations to steal, which ultimately turns your relationship with Christ into a spiritual den of thieves.
So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.
Genesis 4:6-8
Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”
Mark 11:17
Then they all cried again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
John 18:40
All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar. At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon. The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”
While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you! And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.”
That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.
Daniel 4:28-33
Your Unique Journey of Preparation
Here's something beautiful I want you to understand: we are all unique, though we're also like everyone else. What I mean is that there's a unique preparation you'll be going through, even if it mirrors what other brothers and sisters are experiencing.
I heard someone say recently, "If you're worried about being original, then you've missed the point." We're not living in a time where only one person can receive profound revelation and deliver it. This is about seeing how God's people will move together—unified yet unique, each according to their calling and training.
Think of it like the imagery of the 144,000—unity in diversity, each tribe bringing their distinct gifts while serving the same King.
Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God.
Revelation 14:1-5
For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be? But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
1 Corinthians 12:12-20
For Those Being Stolen From: Your Vindication is Coming
If you're reading this and your heart is heavy because you've been stolen from repeatedly, if you're constantly fighting against the enemy and pleading with the Lord about the works He entrusted to you—rest assured that not one prayer has been overlooked.
God has been moving even now, preparing for the moment when all lies will be exposed. The shift has already happened in the spiritual realm.
That say, “Let Him make speed and hasten His work, That we may see it; And let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, That we may know it.” Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!
Isaiah 5:19-21
Pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you for being authentic (Matthew 5:44). This isn't easy, but it's the pathway to freedom and blessing. It will be similar to how Joseph’s brothers suffered in a famine. God’s going to level the ground and expose the faulty foundation. Pray for their repentance, and pray for your heart not to become bitter or apathetic.
For Those Feeling Convicted: The Grace of Repentance
And if you're reading this and feeling the gentle conviction of the Holy Spirit—if He's nudging your heart about areas where you haven't been authentic—there's beautiful grace waiting for you.
Repent.
You don't have to "Cain" your way into God's favor, trying to manufacture what looks good instead of offering what's authentic. God doesn't want your stolen offerings; He wants your surrendered heart.
Walking Forward in Truth
Friend, whether you're the one being stolen from or the one who needs to repent, remember this: God sees all, judges justly, and extends mercy to the humble. His timing is perfect, His justice is sure, and His love for you is unwavering.
The pearls He's entrusted to you—the real ones born from lived out relationship with Him—these cannot be stolen permanently. They are yours because He chose you to carry them and share them. Keep being you.
Walk in that truth.
Rest in His justice.
And continue to dive deep into the ocean of His presence, where the most beautiful pearls are formed not through theft, but through surrender.
